Dalian is a famous port, industry, truism, finance, and information
center in China. As well as the most economical dynamic, well opened
city in North China, Dalian also owns identical software industry.
The city possesses strong basis and conditions to hold a national
software trade fair. 
With a natural harbor of worldwide reputation, Dalian is both on the
doorway of Beijing and Tianjin and is a window of Northeastern China,
which is placed in the center of Northeastern Asia economic region.
In the plan of revitalizing Northeast China and other old industrial
bases, the central government clearly indicated that Dalian is to
be built in to the transportation center of Northeastern Asia. A transportation
center must be an exchange center of goods, people, and information,

exhibitions.
Because of perfect climate conditions and natural sceneries, Dalian
is a famous tourism city. Continuous investment on infrastructure
construction highly improves the city's environment and function,
which also have brought Dalian the reputation such as “Global
Best 500 Environments”. Especially in recent two years, Dalian
has hosted APEC Senior Official's Meeting and the 5th ASEM Economic
Ministers' Meeting. 
Dalian is also one of the earliest cities in China to develop information
industry, so that the city informationization index is among the highest
in the country. Information industry has become the supporting industry
for the city, and production value of electronic products has occupied
60% of that of the whole Northeastern China. There are China's only
successful government-supported private software park, the biggest
private software institute, and a software companies with the highest
exportation value in Dalian. Dalian is listed as national software
industry base, national software exportation base, national software
industry internationalization showcase, and training basis for national
software professionals. Through continuous development, Dalian has
become a famous software city.
